Lori Lashen Spector, DMD
After more than two decades in group practice—mostly in Laurel—Dr. Spector realized a lifelong dream when she established her own practice in 2006. She believes that life should be filled with dreams that become reality, and as a dentist, she can offer patients the smile of their dreams. Helping people makes Dr. Spector happy.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky, Dr. Spector continued her education and earned her DMD. She’s a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Southern Maryland Dental Society. When she’s away from the office, Dr. Spector is an avid tennis player and enjoys cruising the Chesapeake Bay with her husband on their boat.. She has two kids—a son and daughter—both of whom have graduated college. |

 Lena Swann, Treatment Care Coordinator and Dental Assistant
Lena has been a dental assistant for almost 12 years. She assisted Dr. Spector for eight years before Dr. Spector opened her private practice. Lena has a huge, close-knit extended family and spends her free time with them. She is also very active with her church. With a special gift in helping people, Lena comforts and encourages patients in their dental care and in their lives. At Spector Family Dental, she is considered part of a team and not just a staff member. Lena appreciates laughing and having fun with the team while working and providing spectacular patient care. Lena is eager to sit down with patients, discuss their dental goals, and help them achieve them. |

 DeShawn Harris, Dental Hygienist
DeShawn is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the National Dental Hygienists’ Association. She enjoys making her patients smile, educating them on proper oral hygiene and new dental products. DeShawn enjoys travelling, shopping and discovering new restaurants. |

 Tracy Jones, Dental Assistant
Tracy is a 2008 graduate of dental assistant school and has earned her x-ray certification. Tracy began working at Spector Family Dental part time in the summer of 2009 and in the fall became a full member of the team. Like the rest of the team, Tracy is a “people person.” She loves to learn and enjoys keeping busy. Tracy also enjoys travelling, spending time with friends, swimming, photography, music, and art. She is likely to be at Dr. Spector’s side when you come for your appointment. |

 Jeannine Reed, Schedule and Insurance/Financial Coordinator
Jeannine is the newest member of the Spector Family team, but has been in the dental health field for more than 30 years. Jeannine started her career as a licensed dental assistant and as she learned more and more about the “ins and outs” of insurance she moved over to the administrative side of dental care. Jeannine worked for one practice for 33 years. When that dentist retired she searched very carefully before “choosing” Spector Family Dental. Jeannine joined the team in the fall of 2009. Jeannine is likely to be the first person you talk to when you call the office. If you have questions about how to maximize your dental insurance benefits, Jeannine is your “Go-To- Person.” Jeannine and her husband have a dog, a cat, and a pond full of fish. Their son attends UMBC. |
